Pascal (Spanish pronunciation: [xo?se ?peð?o ?alma?seða pas?kal]; born April 2, 1975) is actor from Chile and the United States. Following nearly two decades of taking small roles on stage and television, Pascal rose to fame as Prince Oberyn Martell in the season four of the HBO hit fantasy series *Game of Thrones* (released in 2014). He further rose to fame by playing his portrayal of Javier Peña in the Netflix crime series Narcos (2015–2017). He went on to appear in the films *The Great Wall* (2016), *Kingsman: The Golden Circle* (2017), *The Equalizer 2* (2018), and *Triple Frontier* (in 2019).
His starring roles as Din Djarin in the Disney+ sci-fi show *The Mandalorian* (beginning in 2019 and still ongoing) and Joel Miller in the HBO post-apocalyptic drama *The Last of Us* (2023–present) brought him international fame, solidifying his reputation for portraying characters who act as father figures. With the latter role, he won several accolades, including a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe nomination. He took further parental roles in the movies *We Can Be Heroes* (from 2020), *Strange Way of Life* (released in 2023), and voicing Fink the fox in *The Wild Robot* (2024). Pascal also appeared in high-budget movies such as *Wonder Woman 1984* (released in 2020) and *Gladiator II* (coming in 2024).
Involved in theater since 1999, he appeared on Broadway for the first time as Edmund in a 2019 Broadway rendition of *King Lear*. Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
