Why do indian student go for mbbs abroad?
Indian students often choose to pursue MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degrees abroad for several reasons:
Limited Seats in Indian Medical Colleges: The number of seats available for MBBS courses in India is limited compared to the large number of students who aspire to become doctors. This leads to intense competition and a high cutoff for admission, making it difficult for many students to secure a seat in Indian medical colleges.
High Entrance Exam Difficulty: Entrance exams for Indian medical colleges, such as NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), are highly competitive and challenging. Many students may find it difficult to achieve the required scores to gain admission to a prestigious medical institution in India.
Quality Education: Some students perceive that the quality of medical education and infrastructure in certain foreign countries, particularly in countries like Russia, China, Ukraine, the Philippines, etc., is better than what is available in many Indian colleges. They may also believe that exposure to different healthcare systems and practices will broaden their perspectives and enhance their skills.
