Can nondestructive testing replace destructive testing?

Non-destructive Testing (NDT) enables monitoring of materials and structures without necessarily destroying them. It assists in defect testing without compromising the quality of the object under test. Destructive Testing (DT) is the complete opposite, where elements are taken to their limits and beyond to determine performance under load.
